McClintock Early Learning Center hosts Trike-A-Thon
Here they came, the Mini Macs,
Racing around McClintock’s track.
As Tempe Police motorcycles led the pack,
Smiles and laughter they did not lack.
On bikes and trikes, scooters and a big wheel,
The preschoolers learned safety is a big deal.
Always wear your helmet, don’t ride in the street,
Keep your eyes forward, and stay in your seat! And while they were at it, they did a good deed.
Their trike-a-thon supports children in need.
They are raising money for kids at St. Jude’s,
Discovering giving to others makes you feel good! |
Seventeen
preschoolers in the Early Learning Center at Tempe Union’s McClintock High
School participated in the annual St. Jude’s Trike-A-Thon on February 10, 2017.
The students are often called the "Mini Macs" because the preschool is located on McClintock’s campus. The preschoolers were cheered on by high school students who
take Early Childhood Education classes as part of the District’s Career and
Technical Education (CTE) Program. Deanna Smith teaches those classes and is
the preschool director.
