  • ACTIVITIES - Spread the Word

    Hello DV! The Thunder Buddies Club is holding 'Spread the Word to End the R Word' Day on March 1st. During both lunches you will have the opportunity to hear personal stories from some of our buddies and make a pledge to stop using the R word.   • ASU College Readiness Event !!

    ASU Tempe would like to personally invite you to our upcoming College Readiness event!

    The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 4th from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the ASU Tempe location. It will consist of various academic and educational resources, presentations from our ASU Admissions and Financial Aid departments, and many opportunities to be informed.

    In addition, we will have a number of college readiness workshops to include: Preparing for College, Paying for College, Step to the Top, a me3 demo room, and Campus Tours. All workshops will be in English and Spanish.

    We would love for you and your students to come explore all that ASU Tempe has to offer. It is never too early to start preparing for College! Be sure to RSVP at so that we can make the appropriate accommodations.

  • ATHLETICS - Wrestling season ends

    Varsity finished this past week at the State Tournament with a 4th place team score of 102.5 points, one individual State Champion, and 5 state placers:
    Chad Porter - State Champion @ 195 lbs (2X State Champion)
    Jordan Martinez - 5th place @ 120 lbs. (3X State Placer)
    Ernest Del Rio IV - 6th @ 106 lbs.
    Tariq Hornbuckle - 5th @ 113 lbs.
    Brendan Gill - 4th @ 182 lbs.
    Brett Johnson - 4th @ 285 lbs.

    Our Freshman and JV wrestlers finished their season a couple of weeks ago at their individual final tournaments (unofficial state meets), with the freshman having 3 placers and 1 champion at the Freshman State Tournament:
    Preston Cameau - 1st @ 152 lbs.
    James Crowl - 2nd @ 126 lbs.
    Cole Goldman - 4th @ 195 lbs.
    Zander Katesiredes - 4th @ 285 lbs.

    The JV team won the Big 15 Tournament with 122 points, with 3 Champions and 3 Placers:
    Micah Simpson - 1st @ 132 lbs.
    Carter Bruno - 1st @ 152 lbs.
    Armando Delgado 1st @ 195 lbs.
    Hunter Louis - 2nd @ 195 lbs.
    Michael Busby - 3rd @ 145 lbs.
    Adriel Diaz - 3rd @ 160 lbs.

    The Thunder Fitness Club is underway Thursday mornings! Come have fun with your friends while improving your heart health. Everyone is welcome! Room number E-130.

  • Registration Calendar

    Please refer to the registration calendar. Freshmen will register in their Chem/Phys class, sophomores in their World Hist/Geo class and juniors will register in their American/AZ History class. Students in these classes will come to the Counseling Office on their assigned date, and meet with their counselor.

    The City of Phoenix Youth and Education Office is now accepting applications for the 2017 Outstanding Young Man and Young Woman of the Year awards. The Outstanding Young Man and Young Woman (OYMYW) of the Year program recognizes and honors the outstanding achievements of young people, enhances the perception of youth and raises community awareness of the positive contributions of youth.

    This program is open to any students currently enrolled in high school and living within Phoenix city limits. Here's how the program works:

    One young man and one young woman will be selected as winners from each city council district and receive an award of $2,000.
    In addition, each district-level winner will be eligible for an additional $500 award if they are selected as the citywide winners.
    Students interested in applying will need to write an essay, submit a letter of recommendation and proof of legal residence in the United States. Finalists will be interviewed by judges of the program including members of the Phoenix Rotary 100 and Soroptimist International of Phoenix. District award winners will be invited to a luncheon sponsored by Rotary 100 and Soroptimist International where the citywide award winners will be announced.

    Eligible students can apply through the online application form located at before 5:00 p.m. Feb. 12, 2017.
